Help Wanted:

We are looking for a cook/chef for our hunting lodge beginning the third week of October and ending in mid-December. No formal training is required. We only ask for good food and a positive attitude. We have operated for over twenty years offering full service packages for deer hunters. Our lodge has ten bedrooms and a large great room adjoining a large recreation and conference room. The taxidermy work in the lodge is impressive and gets many compliments. We are located in a beautiful area that is remote and peaceful with great fishing and a long list of other outdoor activities to be enjoyed. Wildlife is abundant and can be viewed from the lodge. We lease approximately thirty thousand acres of private land where cattle ranching is the primary undertaking. We cater to an average of ten guests per week. There are four hunting guides working at the lodge during the season and they must be fed as well as our guests.

On the day the hunters arrive they are fed an evening meal. Three meals a day are provided for the following five days. A breakfast is served on the morning the guests depart and checkout time is 9 a.m. Our cook/chef then has the remainder of that day and until noon on the following day to shop for groceries and prepare the rooms for the following hunt week. There are no additional staff so the cook/chef is responsible for the housekeeping within the lodge. We have a laundry room, complete kitchen with two gas ranges and two dishwashers, and an outdoor grill. We have commercial refrigerators and freezers so food storage is not restricted. The cook/chef would live at the lodge with us and a vehicle would be provided for any work-related travel such as the weekly grocery shopping.

We are open to negotiating terms of employment and in the past the cook/chef salary has been paid at the completion of the season. Our guests are largely return customers and are generous tippers. Our lodge is not a party atmosphere. The love of the outdoors, the fellowship with friends old and new, and the enjoyment of the hunt is our focus. Please email, Jerry Meacham AAA Sportfishing Charters,, cell 907-723-2399.
